the many ways we support you at vigor

Wooden rings hanging at hip height

When you walk into VIGOR, you might notice a simple pair of wooden rings hanging from the rig. For some, those rings are a way to build upper-body strength through ring rows. For others, they’re a steady anchor to hold onto while learning how to lunge with confidence.

Those rings represent something much bigger than just a piece of equipment, they represent support.

At VIGOR, support means meeting you exactly where you are, no matter your age, experience, or fitness level. It means offering progressions and modifications that help you move safely and effectively, and not forcing you into movements that don’t fit your body today.

Support Looks Different for Everyone

Sometimes support means using the rings to balance during a split squat or a reverse lunge.
Other times, it means stepping up onto a shorter height like a plate before you’re ready for a 12-inch box (or 18-inch if you’re ready for more).

Support might look like choosing a light pair of dumbbells instead of a barbell, or grabbing a training barbell that’s only 15 lb instead of a standard 35 or 45 pound bar. It might even mean lowering your reps, slowing the tempo, or taking an extra breath between sets.

Every choice you make like that is part of your journey foward.

Why We Modify

Modifications aren’t shortcuts. They’re smart training decisions that allow your body to build strength, mobility, and confidence over time. Our coaches are here to help you find the right version of every movement so that you can progress safely and consistently.

If your shoulder needs a little extra care, we’ll adjust.
If your balance isn’t quite there yet, we’ll give you support.
If you’re ready to push harder, we’ll guide you to that next level safely and with intention.

What Support Feels Like at VIGOR

Support at VIGOR feels like having a coach who knows your name and remembers that last week your knee felt a bit stiff.
It feels like teammates who cheer when you master a new movement — even if it’s the scaled version.
It feels like confidence growing with every session, because you’re learning what your body can do instead of being told what it “should” do.

We believe fitness isn’t about keeping up with anyone else. It’s about finding your version of strong and having the right tools, guidance, and community to help you get there.

So the next time you see those wooden rings hanging from the rig, remember:
They’re not just there to hold you up — they’re a symbol of how we’ve got you, every step (and rep) of the way.
